If you liked The Hunger Games, you will also enjoy...

Did you really like The Hunger Games, like me, and keep looking for similar books? Well, I thought I should make the search a little easier for you, and list down a few YA books that are similar to THG:

1. Divergent by Veronica Roth - I would recommend this book the most. The series is going to be a triology, like THG. It takes place in a future where everybody is parted into 4 "groups" or factions. The main character is a girl named Beatrice, and she has come of age to choose her faction. She has to choose between staying with her family, or change into another faction... You will not regret reading this book. Come on, it got 4.38 stars on Goodreads!

2. Delirium by Lauren Oliver - More like a love story. This is the first book in a triology. It takes place in the future as well, and in this society, love is a dangerous thing. It can kill you when you have it, and it can kill you when you don't. This is a "Rebellion" books too, like THG, going against the society and such. It's not just a love story, it has action in it too, I promise! Main character is Lena, and she has always trusted the Society. But then she meets Alex...

3. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld - You have to be a little more patient with this, but it is still a good story. In this futuristic society, when you turn 16, you have an obligated operation that makes you pretty. Our main character Tally is SO looking forward to this operation, whereas she's almost 16. Her bestfriend Perris (is that correct?) has reasently turned pretty, and since the society seperates the Pretties and the Uglies, she can't see him again untill she turns pretty. Then she meets Shay. She does not want to get turned pretty, and tries to convince Tally to run away with her. What will Tally choose?

I'm sure there are more books to mention, like Matched by Allie Condie,
(but even though I really liked the first book, I didn't like the rest of the triology that much. Sure, you can try reading it if you want. Maybe you like it!),
and books you would enjoy too, even if they're not really similar to THG, like Cassandra Clare's books
(read them, I highly recommend them! The Mortal Instuments and The Infernal Devices are fantastic!),
or books I haven't read yet, but know are really good, like Legend by Marie Lu
and The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
(I need those books!)

Anyway, I have my reasons, and I thought I would stick to the subject; books that are similar to The Hunger Games.

Good luck with the reading!!

Bout of Books #failed

I managed to fail at my goal - wich was to finish ONE book that I'd already started reading - because I simply didn't have time. This read-a-thon was placed on a very buisy part of my life. I finished reading Clockwork Angel today, and it was great! There will be a bookreview uploaded soon.

It was fun to join a read-a-thon though, so I will probably join whenever the next Bout of Books read-a-thon is. Hope you managed your goal!

This mini-challenge is about picking books that takes place where you are going on a roadtrip/ where an author lives that you are going on a roadtrip (or just any trip in general I think.) Click here for more info.

OK, so here's the books I picked:
New York: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
London: Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
California: Evermore by Alyson Noel
South CarolinaBeautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
ColoradoRules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles
Main: Delirium by Lauren Oliver

If you wonder why I underline different words, it's because I try to show you if I want to travel to where the book takes place, or where the author lives. By the way, I am so failig at my goal, I only read 25 pages yesterday :/ Hope you can live up to your goals!

Bout of Books: Re-Title It

Okay, so this is the mini-challenge of the day. Click here for more info.

----> The Depressing Shadowhunters of London Institute

This was a tough one, so the re-title is bad, but I did it al least! I'm only on page 178, so I haven't gotten so much into the story: this is my impression so far ;) (P.S. It is a really good book, don't think otherwise!!)

Bout of Books 8.0 (Day 1)

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

I've never actually joined a read-a-thon before, so I figured I should try :) My goal is to finish Clockwork Angel, and yesteday I read 70 pages, so now I am on page 160 Well, I read slow, and the school has just started.. :/
Anyhow, good luck everyone!
